- Tasha currently serves as your Maui County Council Presiding Officer Pro Tempore & Chair of the Housing and Land Use (HLU) Committee.

- Tasha introduced the establishment of the 20 percent appropriation of the Maui County GET surcharge to be set aside for Hawaiian Homeland developments. 

- Tasha has worked tirelessly with countless agencies to remove barriers in order to support attainable housing in Maui County. One example of this was the lengthy deliberations in support of a community plan amendment, rezoning, and repurposing of the Queen Kaahumanu Shopping Center to be used as a mixed-use development providing affordable housing, office, & retail spaces. 

- Tasha lead the Council's efforts to acquire & repurpose the Haggai Institute, Kihei. Working closely with the State legislators and the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation (HHFDC) the State has secured Hale O La'ie to house fire survivors and soon provide also for teachers & affordable housing. 

- Tasha provides her support of local land trust organizations. The major land trust in Hawaii is the Department of Hawaiian Homelands which spawned the birth of the Sovereign Council of Hawaiian Homestead Associations (SCHHA) and other similar organizations. During the fiscal year 2025 budget, Council appropriated funds for the Lahaina Community Land Trust & the Homestead Community Development Corporation (HCDC) for their Permanently Affordable Rental Unit Strategy (PARUS).
